Warm thoughts to all the Black Lace writers, Nexus writers, and Adam Nevill.

Wow...this really sucks. I've practically planned my writing schedule for the next three months centered around Black Lace's call for submissions. Not to mention the fact that I just put in a submission packet for the novel that I've been working on for the last six months. They were my first choice...yes...this blows.

Hi all,

Yes, there's not much to be said that isn't swearing, I think. It worries me on so many levels.

I'm very concerned about what this means as far as quality erotica goes.

And I'm so sorry for the writers that had/have projects underway with BL. And for the editor.

what does it mean for you..most of your work is published by virgin books isnt it? i have manege der lust somewhere and even that is a virgin original..isnt it?

especially for the editor..i heard so much good stuff about him....

Both my novels are with Virgin BL, Danielle. (I don't fully understand how it works with translation rights, to be honest!). I don't know what will happen in future as far as print and so on goes.

I'm not devastated personally - I'd already started heading in a different direction with my writing. And I'm having a baby, so hey, nothing else really bothers me too much right now! ; )

And yes, Adam's been a brilliant editor. He's a writer, too, and a great support. And now I expect he's in a really shitty position. Oh bollocks. It's just crappy news for everyone involved. I wish they'd take it all back.

..oh okay..now i m curious about the direction you are heading to i mean...

i read one of adams books and it was really good..i really wonder what will happen to virgin now..virgin to me was always a kind of qualitiy sign in teh erotica section...

Maybe direction is too strong a word! I'm moving away from erotica and into uncharted waters, that's about as far as I can tell right now!

Virgin are going to concentrate on publishign shitty celebrity biographies, I believe. And yes, BL/Nexus were one of the few quality imprints in erotica land.

seems like we are about to make the same step..when i wrote my first book it wasnt erotica..well there was sex..but that wasnt the subject of the book,,,then i wrote so much different stzuff..then for a while mainly erotica..and now i start to write a new novel..and sure there will be sex..but again sex isnt the main subject of the book...
