Petra two-mice

Continuuing the parade of Dead Things, here is last night's haul. Petra left them for me as an early-morning present. Isn't she clever? (I'm very proud when they're presented as a fait accompli. When I have to rescue a half-killed, soggy and shivering little creature from the kitty-jaws of death, not so much.)

Anyway, I'm going to make her a heraldic crest today, with these as the Mice Rampant. Anyone know the Latin for 'Two Mice'? Or maybe 'Fickle and Murderous'?

Petra is quite the intrepid hunter, and it seems she's keen to lavish upon her mistress!

Methinks you are loved.

Sorry, my Latin is rusty (read non existent,) but that is a heckuva crest for a kitty. How about French? "Deux souris"

Has a certain ring to it, eh?

So does my verification word: inkbin

Need a quill with that inkbin?

She has inherited your artistic flair for visual display!

Thanks, all! Deux Souris is good, Craig, I'm sure she'll be proud!

(ER, actually I had to arrange the mice for Petra - she has two left paws when it comes to things like that. And I think I got some little tiny mousemite bites for my troubles.)

Nikki, you are intrepid! My cat Jules once strolled up to my then husband and dropped a mouse on his shoe. He said, "Jules, I don't want that on my shoe." Jules gave him a cat-look, picked it up in his mouth and walked away with it.

When Jules was neutered, we noticed the vet had written his name as 'Jewels' which prompted then husband to say, "Yes, the cat formerly known as Jewels." Hoho, yes he was funny...sometimes...

Jules finally left home for good, to be a feral hunter.

Well, of course, I had share this with my son. He's always interested when it comes to dead things.

Peace,

I've just read your story 'All I Have To Do' and it had a profound effect on me. I'm in a new relationship with a musician from the other side of the world. He's due to visit me soon and I'm aching for him so much it hurts. Aspects of your story described my feelings so accurately I almost felt naked. I phoned him at 3 in the morning, and now I feel ashamed because he truly knows how much I want him. I'm totally at his mercy - but thing is, he wants me too. The story really gripped me like a vice - it's written so beautifully - I'm going to keep it forever. Thank you.

Hi Anonymouse!

Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I'm really very touched!

I hope you have a wonderful visit with your musician and that it all works out beautifully. Glad the story struck a chord.
